Why Are We Overcomplicating Health and Fitness?

My guess is so people can either get more "likes" on social media or get you to buy the products they are promoting.  But seriously, every time I scroll through instagram, someone is posting either a workout that is ridiculously difficult that I doubt anyone would ever do, or posting an overcomplicated meal they made that may look pretty, but let's be honest, you're not making it.  This is probably why the majority of these people are getting comments about their outfits, rather than their workout routine or food.

Felt good to vent.

So, the purpose of this blog post is for me to take all of these ridiculous workout routines, exercises, and health advice that overwhelm you, throw them in the trash, and give you TWO rules to follow, with THREE requirements applied to the rules.  That's it!  And for 99% of you, these rules will be all you ever need to succeed in health, fitness, and even life.  Do you have a rule? I don't want to hear it.

Rules
  1. Cook and eat your own, non processed food
  2. Workout entire body using Squats, Deadlifts, Bench Press, and Military Press, at minimum
    1. Or some sort of variation of each
Requirement for Success
  1. Be consistent
  2. Increase exercise intensity each workout
  3. Be safe
    1. Use proper form
    2. Take adequate rest
THAT'S ALL FOLKS

Wait...you need some explanation of these rules? Okay

Rules
  1. "Processed food" includes food that has been cooked, canned, frozen, packaged or changed in nutritional composition with fortifying, preserving or preparing in different ways.  So though you will be "processing" your food when you cook it, start out with non processed ingredients.
  2. If you don't work out your entire body, you will be imbalanced.  These four exercises and/or any variations you need to do because of mobility issues will cover the whole body
Requirements for Success
  1. If you only cook your own food and workout one time a month, this won't work.  It needs to be a lifestyle change
  2. Increasing exercise intensity doesn't just mean increasing the weight you are lifting.  It can also mean doing more repetitions, resting less between sets, doing anything to make the exercise harder
  3. If you aren't cooking your food safely or performing the exercise correctly you could die. More commonly, you may actually get hurt and can no longer meet requirement 1.

THAT'S REALLY ALL FOLKS
